What it was like to Sponsor Tap

Hello again, Liz here bringing updates from the village.
While there are many exciting things happening in and around Mawanga, as a family, we also share in the sorrow as one of our own has recently passed from this earth to glory. We mourn her loss, but rejoice that she is in a place with no suffering or tears, and safe at home in the arms of her Savior. Tap was known and loved by many and her absence will be acutely evident in the days to come. Her sponsor, Hadassah Lau, also sponsors five others through her business Hadasity and partners with ROWAN to empower and educate our orphans and widows. Below is her perspective of experiencing the privilege of sponsoring Tap and what she felt on hearing of her passing.

“Sometimes sponsoring someone so far away and not having met the person makes it hard to feel a connection to who and what you are helping. And we are just blessed that ROWAN has allowed us to be a part of what you guys are doing over there by giving us a glimpse of what their lives are about and keeping us updated on how they are doing. It’s definitely sad to have heard that Tap passed away, but at the same time because of the updates that have been coming from you, and how her life has been such a blessing to the whole community and how her daughter has come to know Jesus, I also am happy for her as I know her life goes on in fullness of joy in heaven and her legacy remains here on earth.

What a privilege to have been the sponsor of an amazing and inspiring woman! Thank you for sharing her stories…I think from being so far away and not having actually walked this life’s journey with her, being her sponsor really lets us hold hands with the stories that her life has told.

Not all of us can be in Uganda right now and do the things that ROWAN is doing, but it’s a joy to be able to partner with you guys from wherever we are even if only by financial means and prayer.”
Love,
Hadassah Lau
