About Loy

Loy comes from the village of Makwtu in the Iganga district. Her husband passed away years ago, leaving her to raise for 2 children on her own. Luckily, she is made of steel & a shining example of empowerment as she runs a small jewelry business to provide for her family. Loy’s favorite food is Posho (bananas & rice – yes we’ll ask her for the recipe) & she would love to travel to America.

The Bead Business

To help provide for her family & learn a number of useful skills, Loy began a handmade jewelry business. Not only does she make beautiful beads & jewelry, she is also learning what it takes to run a business.
