Lately we have been talking a lot about beads & showing a little about the process for making them used here at ROWAN. Now comes the fun part, lets get to know some of the amazing individuals that make them. Each one of them has a story to tell. Today, meet Betsy, she is from the village of Busambira.

Flashback to Betsy of 2011

Betsy lives with her children, her favorite color is white & her favorite food is millet bread (yes, we’ll ask for her recipe). When asked what she would do with $1,000 US dollars, she said she would buy land so she could farm it as she really enjoys gardening.

For over a decade, ROWAN (through your donations) has helped a lot of deserving people like Betsy live a more fulfilled life. Enabling them to grow personally, spiritually & financially. Thanks so much to everyone who has helped to make all of the ROWAN projects possible!

Sometimes she tries to contain it.

But she rarely succeeds.

It just seems to burst forth from her!

We will continue to share photographic stories of the amazing people of ROWAN, both past & present. Their strength & smiles should be an inspiration to us all. Please keep them in your prayers & if you want to help, we’d also love for you to get involved. Plus, be sure to check our more beading pics.
