The Story Behind the Face

Meet Mutesi.
One day a few years ago Pastor Paul saw Mutesi crying in church. She explained that she had too many children and no ability to pay for school. ROWAN helped take lift her burden by paying for school fees and uniforms. She has four children in the ROWAN program. When we asked her how she defines ROWAN, she shared this:
“ROWAN is home. I am strong and courageous. I am listening to Christ. I may not be able to feed or clothe my children. I may not be able to rent land for cultivating. But I am in Christ and I have seen how He provides!”
Pastor Paul and Mutesi’s husband used to evangelize together in the community. Her husband died abruptly after work one day (most likely an illness). After the international team visited with her for 1 hour, it was apparent that Mutesi has the gift of speaking and brings hope to those around her, even in her difficult circumstances. The team left in tears encouraged by her faith and strength.
