February 7th is National Black HIV/ AIDS Awareness Day, a day celebrated for raising awareness for this epidemic in black communities. Similar to World AIDS Day on Dec 1st, the 7th of Feb is meant to raise awareness, show support for those who suffer & remember the people we have lost.
Moving Forward
Although this day originated in the US, it is one that people across the globe can observe & celebrate. Keeping AIDS/ HIV in the public mind & showing those who live with it that they are not alone. These awareness days are also to remind governments of the world that this epidemic is not going away.
